Of course they are worried…

No one should be surprised that Concealed Weapon Laws Make Security Practitioners Worried. I’ll bet there were lots of “security practitioners” that were “worried” about blacks being released from slavery too. Reading the study they cite I found certain items particularly interesting.

Pigs, Fish and Men

This man is running for President of the United States. “You know, you can put lipstick on a pig,” he said, “but it’s still a pig.” As the crowd roared, clearing understanding that he was referring to his opponent’s running mate, This man continued. “You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it’s still gonna stink after eight years.”

The 24/7 Gun

It is seldom glamorous, and it may even be a bit beaten up. It may not be terribly expensive or possessed of “match grade” accuracy. It earns its place not from its power or accuracy but because of what it does: it’s there, 24/7. It is the gun that is always with you. Because of what it does, it becomes the most important gun that you own.

Thoughts on Fatherhood

was lucky to have a Dad that took the time to take me hunting and fishing. He instilled a lasting love and respect for firearms in me. He taught me to shoot while I was still unable to hold the gun by myself. The Police State Pays A Visit

The next time Paul Helmke and Josh Sugarmann try to assure you that ammo and firearm registration aren’t anything to be concerned with if you’re a law abiding citizen, point them in the direction of this story. The bottom line–the guy did nothing wrong, was actually an ex cop, and still had a SWAT team snooping around his house.

“Even if I want to take them away, I don’t have the votes in Congress,’’ he said. “This can’t be the reason not to vote for me. Can everyone hear me in the back? I see a couple of sportsmen back there. I’m not going to take away your guns.’’ Yes, this can and will be the reason people won’t vote for him.

The Smith and Wesson M +P 3. For a female shooter considering something to carry concealed for the first time, it’s a nice alternative to the G-22 and has less recoil due to a low bore axis. Like the G-22 it will stay tight and accurate, but even more so, necessary if you’re using it for self defense.
