A Coeur d’Alene man is suing a rifle-making company and Wal-Mart after a gun he bought at the store in Post Falls allegedly exploded, permanently injuring his hand.
James Monette bought the Mossberg 100 ATR 30-06 Springfield hunting rifle as a Christmas present for his son in 2005, according to court documents.

Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll (R-25) has sponsored a bill (A1282) that would revise the procedure for obtaining a permit to carry a firearm for the purpose of self-defense in New Jersey. This bill would make it possible for qualified persons who do not have a criminal history to carry their firearm for personal defense.

Favorite People. Favorite Activity. Favorite Place. Perfect weather. It really doesn’t get much better than this. Marian, Alex and I went out to a farm in Meade County for a training session hosted by my guru, Jim Higginbotham. The agenda for the day was to shoot the FBI qualifier, but to do it in half the time, so if the qualifier specified 12 seconds for a string of fire, we did it in 6. Interspersed were tales and anecdotes, explanations and technical guidance.

Voters in 14 Illinois counties will have a chance next month to let Springfield know what they think about citizens’ right to carry concealed firearms.

Being a tinkerer and somewhat OC (obsessive-compulsive), I decided I could make it better. Something I have done with nearly every rifle I have owned. The first step was to read some of the forums which are about 10/22’s. Several of them said not to rush out and buy a new barrel until you give your factory barrel a fair chance to perform at its best. The number one improvement recommended is a trigger replacement.

I carry because I am empowered with not just the right, but the duty to take care of myself. I am sovereign in my protection of myself, charged with that moral duty and supported by the Second Amendment and the steady hand that holds the grip.
