(I do not ordinarily participate in marketing campaigns like this, but Halbrook has done outstanding scholarly work on the Second Amendment for years and deserves every nickel that may come to him as a result of this book.)

the Ammunition Accountability Act is suddenly a legitimate threat. New York, Pennsylvania and 16 other states have already enacted legislation that would mandate the engraving of a unique serial number on the base of each handgun and “assault weapon” bullet, and an identical number on the cartridge’s case. The act calls for dealers of this “encoded ammunition” to record the purchaser’s name, birthdate, drivers license number, etc.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture and recorded in a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

We often hear these days from people on both sides of the gun control issue that they are all in favor of “reasonable” gun control measures but each accuses the other side of being unreasonable by the positions they take. Is the “reasonable” gun control law a lot like Sasquatch, Yeti, and the Loch Ness Monster - some sketchy evidence but no real proof of its existence? Let’s take a moment and explore the situation once more.

The phrase Shall Not Be Infringed is pretty straightforward. It doesn’t say Shall Not Be Infringed After a 3 to 10 Day Waiting Period, Shall Not Be Infringed for the Non-Elderly, Shall Not Be Infringed so Long as the Police Chief Says It’s OK or Shall Not Be Infringed for Those Without Vagina, but reading this story, you’d probably not know that…
