A tiny Texas school district may be the first in the nation to allow teachers and staff to pack guns for protection when classes begin later this month, a newspaper reported.

In response to popular demand, Yes We Can Labs has developed the Magical Talisman Gun. Hand-forged by Wiccan High Priestesses in the bowels of Mt. Mordor, the Magical Talisman Gun is forged out of an alloy of Philosopher’s Stone and Dark Matter, and work is only done under a full moon.

I’m a bit of a caliber snob, but not a mousegun hater. While I acknowledge that shot placement is generally more important than caliber, I object to the truisms that try to make all handguns equal in effectiveness. I just don’t believe that to be true, and I am not willing to tell my readers, “Oh, yeah, your .380 will work as well as a .44 Magnum.” Sorry, but there are real differences in effectiveness, and I cannot in good conscience say otherwise.

This is a perfect example of why we say the .380 is not adequate as a defensive round. This lack of effectiveness is the rule with this caliber, not the exception.

Constitutional civil rights to mean much if you can’t exercise them. NSSF is taking the lead on helping D.C. residents bring their Second Amendment rights from theory to reality. Hat tip to them!

A good place to start would be to admit that you and the government of Chicago have failed utterly and completely to keep the public safe. Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. The second step would be to remember that you are a city in the United States and that your citizens have a natural God-given right to an effective self defense. It is clearly specified in the Constitution of this republic, and you cannot ignore it regardless of how hard you may try. Being a nanny city-state isn’t working, hasn’t worked and will never work.

Despite a nationwide economic decline, gun store and range workers say First Coast residents aren’t cutting back on self-protection. Jackie Miller, owner of Bullseye Gun and Pawn, said she has seen increased traffic from gun novices whose interests were piqued by a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that interpreted the Second Amendment and legitimized private gun ownership.

These folks say they care about your “safety” but they want to deny law-abiding, tax-paying citizens their constitutional right to an adequate self-defense

If you need a reason to wear your gun to church… Gunman critically wounds 7 in Tennessee church

I don’t sell my reloads very often, but with the price of ammo these days, reloading is like printing money. I stopped by the local range to pick up a couple of boxes of ammo on the way to a match. It was two boxes of S&B 230 grain FMJ. The clerk rang up the bill: $38. What’s different now is that the war happened; ammo got scarce; metals went through the roof, but I don’t want to give up shooting because ammo has tripled in price. My aching pocket book brought to my remembrance the reloading press that had been carefully packed away and stored in the basement.
