Pigs, Fish and Men

This is part of why I love Xavier:
Pigs, Fish and Men
This man is running for President of the United States. "You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," he said, "but it’s still a pig." As the crowd roared, clearly understanding that he was referring to his opponent’s running mate, this man continued. "You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it’s still gonna’ stink after eight years."
He has rejected a request for an apology. He, and his campaign see no reason why anyone should be offended. They say that the indignation felt by his opponents is just campaign grandstanding. He has been asked if he may have said these words in error, and he has in effect stated he did not. Very well, he owns them. There are some who will blindly follow this man. They will see no wrong in his words, saying (and rightly so) that his opponent used the same phrase in the past. These people can not be swayed any more from their trance like state than a stone can be made to sing…
