South Carolina To Have Tax Free Holiday For Gun Sales
Most people are probably unaware of it, but on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, handguns, rifles and shotguns will be sales tax free in South Carolina. State lawmakers passed a bill in June that includes the sales tax holiday on firearms. They called it the Second Amendment Recognition Act.
Rep. Mike Pitts, R-Greenwood, was the sponsor of the original bill. He said he got the idea after talking to the owners of a hunting outfitters shop in Clinton about the late summer sales tax holiday for back-to-school supplies and clothing.

Ha! We oughta make it a National Day, a week. No taxes on firearms, ammo, accessories and all hunting, fishing and camping equipment for the entire week of Thanksgiving.
I still have Navy friends down in S.C.
I let them know about the tax abatement program. One in particular said he would do his part to let everyone know about it.
There is a gun show at Exchange park this weekend. Sounds like excellent planning on the promoters part.
S.C. has come a long way since the 80’s.
I remember having my picture taken every time I bought a pistol.
Now they repeal the tax on them. No pictures now.
What a refreshing idea. Unfortunately those of us who live in the “Peoples Republic of CA” will never be so lucky. Getting back into the shooting sport after taking a 28 year hiatus has been bit of a shock. 2nd ammendment may not last much longer here. Gettn’ while the gettn’ is good.
