SACRAMENTO - Rudy Giuliani addressed a potentially troublesome issue with conservative voters, saying his policies as mayor to get handguns off the street helped reduce crime in New York.

“I used gun control as mayor,” he said at a news conference Saturday during a swing through California. But “I understand the Second Amendment. I understand the right to bear arms.”

He said what he did as mayor would have no effect on hunting. Source

Somehow, I don’t think Rudy gets it.

Wait a minute. IIRC, I heard a few years ago that the drop in NYC crime was attributable to more cops on the street and an emphasis on cops making more arrests. Now it’s due to gun control? Oh, brother! Well, this guy was never going to get my vote anyway.

Of course Rudy’s gun control worked. New York City is a crime-free paradise.
