Hillary Clinton on Gun Control

New York Senator Hillary Clinton, Democrat

Positions:
Keep guns away from people who shouldn’t have them

“We need to stand firm on behalf of sensible gun control legislation. We have to enact laws that will keep guns out of the hand of children and criminals and mentally unbalanced persons. Congress should have acted before our children started going back to school. I realize the NRA is a formidable political group; but I believe the American people are ready to come together as a nation and do whatever it takes to keep guns away from people who shouldn’t have them.” Source: www.hillary2000.org, “Gun Safety” Sep 9, 2000

License and register all handgun sales
Hillary Rodham Clinton offered her support for a legislative proposal to license hand guns. The legislation, sponsored by Sen. Charles Schumer, would require anyone who wants to purchase a gun to obtain a state-issued photo gun license. “I stand in support of this common sense legislation to license everyone who wishes to purchase a gun,” Clinton said. “I also believe that every new handgun sale or transfer should be registered in a national registry, such as Chuck is proposing.” Source: CNN.com Jun 2, 2000

Gun control protects our children
“We will not make progress on a sensible gun control agenda unless the entire American public gets behind it. It is really important for each of you [kids] to make sure you stay away from guns. If you have guns in your home, tell your parents to keep them away from you and your friends and your little brothers and sisters.” Source: Forum at South Side Middle School in Nassau County Jul 15, 1999

Too many guns
“We have to do everything possible to keep guns out of the hands of children, and we need to stand firm on behalf of the sensible gun control legislation that passed the Senate and then was watered down in the House. It does not make sense for us at this point in our history to turn our backs on the reality that there are too many guns and too many children have access to those guns-and we have to act to prevent that.” Source: Remarks to NEA in Orlando, Florida Jul 5, 1999

Lock up guns; store ammo separately
“If you own a gun… make sure it’s locked up and stored without the ammunition. In fact, make it stored where the ammunition is stored separately. We’ve made some progress in the last several years with the Brady Bill and some of the bans on assault weapons, but we have a lot of work to do.”

“I believe we need a comprehensive plan to stop gun violence, and it is one of the reasons I am running for the Senate,” the first lady said.

Mrs. Clinton, who is running for the seat of retiring Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-New York), added that she supports proposals that would require the licensing and registering of all new handguns purchased in the United States…

…”The moms who are marching in Washington this Sunday have it right,” she said, referring to the “Million Mom March” against gun violence scheduled for Mother’s Day in the nation’s capital….

“We license drivers before they get behind the wheel to make sure they can drive safely. We register cars to make sure someone is responsible for every vehicle on the road. But we don’t do the same for deadly weapons,” she said…

…If elected to the Senate, Mrs. Clinton said she’d work with Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) on her bill that would require prospective gun buyers to first obtain a gun license by passing a background check and a safety course exam. The bill would also establish a national registry to record all gun sales. Source

In the 1999 Proposition B in Missouri campaign [Concealed Carry] , Robin Carnahan’s Safe Schools and Workplaces Committee, on the weekend prior to voting day, coordinated a taped phone message from Hillary Clinton that automatically dialed 75,000 homes statewide with the message, “Just too dangerous for Missouri families.”

Hillary Clinton was one of 16 Senators who voted against the 2006 Vitter Amendment, which prohibits the funding of the confiscation of lawfully-held firearms during a disaster.

In this observer’s humble opinion, Mrs. Clinton would have to be impeached for perjury immediately following the administration of the oath of office because there is simply no way that this woman can honestly swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Remember Waco. Remember Mogadishu. Remember Rawanda. Remember Elian Gonzales. Remember the “Assault Weapons Ban.” Remember the Brady Bill. Remember the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. That’s what you’re facing with the Clintons.

There isn’t a democrat in any office that hasn’t taken an oath
to uphold the Constitution ,including all past democrat presidents ,they are by their nature-politics ANTI Constitution.
Why then doesn’t some one IMPEACH THEM ALL?

The only reason I can see is that we can’t afford that many lawyers. I think we’d have to add some Republicans to the list too.

I would be ashamed to call myself a democrat. Anyone that likes to hunt and votes democrat really needs to open their eyes because they are voting away their guns.

As much as I’d like to see a woman president, I don’t trust Hillary as far as I can throw her.

God help us if Hillary becomes president! She’ll go right after our Second Amendment rights as soon as she take office. I

I do not believe there is any difference between a Democrat and a Communist. Democrats, like Communists, think the government ought to control every facet of our lives.

That’s all I have to say about that!
